Toronto Hip-Hop Studio
All genres, all styles. This is what we do.
The Neumann U87. Punch-in loops. Engineers who comp in the pocket. Walk out with the song AND the full multicam session — you edit, you post, you flood your own feeds on your own terms.
Lush Recording Studio is the Toronto hip-hop studio for artists who cut their own records, their own way. We're not a band-tracking room. We're a vocal booth tuned for the hip-hop take — the Neumann U87 on the mic stand, the Neve 1073SPX on the preamp, and engineers who know the difference between a trap flow and a drill pocket. Walk in with reference tracks, walk out with a mixed hook and the full multicam session to cut your own clips for the rollout.
Bar-by-bar drop-ins, not restart-from-the-top. Your engineer is already set up for punch-in workflow before you hit the booth.
Our team has cut every hip-hop subgenre in this room. Trap doubles, drill ad-libs, boom-bap pocket — the engineer already knows the editing pass you want.
Send your beat before the session and we'll load, BPM-check, and set markers in the session file so you're tracking the second you walk in.
Optional multi-cam captures you in the booth while you cut — the full session, yours to keep. Cut your own clips, or add edit packages at checkout. One block, one invoice, full rollout material.
Every hip-hop take in this room runs the same signal chain elite studios run — Neumann U87 through a Neve 1073SPX preamp, into a Tube-Tech CL1B compressor, through a UAD Apollo x8 interface. No stage compromised. No "budget" substitute pretending to be the real thing.
The studio standard. The capture.
Preamp character that defined a generation.
Musical dynamics. Keeps the take alive.
Studio-grade conversion. Session-ready files.
Every hip-hop session at Lush is run by our senior engineer team — hip-hop and R&B lived in, punch-in workflow as a default, and the editing pass already in muscle memory. We route your session to the engineer best fit for the record based on genre, subgenre, and block length.
Vocal recording with an in-house engineer. 2-hour minimum. Every session on the same Neumann U87 chain.
6-hour daytime block (10AM–4PM). Best rate for mixtape / EP tracking.
Want us to edit? Edit packages (short-form clips, BTS reel, grid stills) are available as add-ons at checkout.
Yes. Our engineers run punch-in loops as a default for hip-hop tracking — drop in, bar by bar, no rebuilding takes from the top. The team runs fast punch-in workflows in Logic Pro, so your flow stays in the pocket while the session moves.
Both. The minimum booking is a 2-hour block at $75/hr, which is plenty for one track plus rough comps. If you're cutting a mixtape or EP, the 6-hour daytime block at $400 (10AM–4PM) is the move.
The Neumann U87 — the studio-standard condenser behind decades of records. It runs through a Neve 1073SPX preamp into a Tube-Tech CL1B compressor and a UAD Apollo x8 interface. It's the chain hip-hop engineers build their rooms around.
Hip-hop session, mixtape, EP — drop the details and we'll route it to the right engineer on the team.
